Introduction

Horizontal centrifugal dryer, aka spin dryer, is a dewatering machine that separates water from plastic films.

For handling hard plastics materials, such as PET, PP flakes, please refer to a vertical centrifugal dryer.

Horizontal spin dryer is comprised of a high-speed rotor, enclosed by detachable screens. The wet materials enter from the right inlet and exit from the left. Rotor with slanted paddles drives all materials horizontally Centrifugal forces generated by high-speed rotation agitates materials inside the screens and bring out excess water along the way. Water is then discharged via holed screens and drains at the bottom. The airflow conveys plastic films out of the dewatering machine.

Horizontal centrifugal dryer removes detergents and water from plastics, so it used after sink-float tank, hot washer and friction washer. In addition, thermal dryer and squeeze dryer can further reduce moisture rate to 8% or less than 5%. Maintaining a low moisture rate is essential for palletizing, as we all know.

Hopper dryers are used in plastics manufacturing, automotive, packaging, electronics, pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries. Especially widely used in the plastic manufacturing industry . Most are suitable for raw materials that need to be dried due to moisture caused by packaging, transportation or recycling, especially in environments where fast, efficient and safe drying of raw materials is required. By performing operations that precisely control the drying temperature and time, hopper dryers ensure the drying quality of raw materials and improve the production efficiency and product quality of plastic products.

In plastic molding industry, there are various types of dryers. If the choice is wrong, heavy costs will be paid in later operation. Dryer Types

1. Dehumidifying dryer'Usually consists of a dehumidifying part and a drying part.The dehumidification technology (such as cooling dehumidification or rotary dehumidification) is first used to reduce the humidity of the air, and then the dehumidified air is used in the drying process of the material, and the air is heated by a heat ex-changer to accelerate the evaporation of water in the material.
2. Compressed air dryer'It is a device used to remove moisture and impurities from compressed air, ensuring that the quality of compressed air meets the specific requirements in industrial applications. Water and impurities in the compressed air are absorbed by adsorbents (such as activated carbon, silica gel or molecular sieve) and then the compressed air temperature is reduced by a cooler, so that the water vapor condenses into liquid water and is discharged, and then the filter is used to further remove solid particles and other pollutants in the compressed air.
3. Vacuum dryer'It is a kind of equipment that uses vacuum environment to dry materials. Air is pumped through a vacuum pump to create a low-pressure environment. Then use heating plate or heating belt to heat the material, accelerate the evaporation of water and condensate through the condenser into liquid water discharge to dry the material.
4. Hot air dryer'It is a kind of equipment that uses hot air as the drying medium to dry the material. The air is heated by a heater, such as an electric, gas or steam heater. The hot air is circulated in the drying box through the fan to heat the material evenly. Under the action of hot air, the surface moisture evaporates rapidly to achieve the drying effect.

The structure of the dryer needs to be simple, the parts need to be easy to replace and easy to buy.

3. Operation mode

The operation mode should be simple and easy to learn, avoiding complex settings, so as to avoid the time and cost of training skilled workers.

4. Drying temperature

Drying temperature refers to the point of drying air entering the barrel. Drying temperature has certain point for each kind of raw material because of its different physical properties, such as molecular structure, density, specific heat and moisture content. If the temperature is too high it will make some additives in the material volatilize or agglomerate. However, if the temperature is too low, certain crystalline materials will not achieve the required dry conditions.

5. Drying time

Drying time refers to the pre-drying time of raw materials before forming. Too long drying time will result in deterioration or agglomeration of raw materials or waste of energy. Too short drying time will cause the phenomenon of excessive moisture content.
